Frank Van Imschoot is a Belgian photographer living between in Brussels and London. Well known for shooting high contrast Black & White photos.
My work explores the relationship between the body and urban spaces. Influenced by William Klein, Lee Friedlander and Daido Moriyama. The high contrast Black and White photography will loose detail but will massively gain in character; Grey gets dissolved into White or Black and people often become silhouettes in their own environment. The viewer is left with a statement of the light and the darkness of our culture.
Ever since I was a student I have been fascinated by the traditional understanding of the zeitgeist; capturing the inexorable truth within the the divergence of the moment.
